3/19/24 Update:

Woolson Street Bridge Construction Update

Woolson Street Bridge Construction is currently in a Winter Shutdown.  During the winter shutdown the overhead utility companies said they would relocate onto the permanent pole locations.  Eversource has relocated their pole and wires.  Currently the project is waiting for communications to relocate.   The contractor is delaying restarting construction until the middle of May to provide additional time for utility relocation.

Woolson St Bridge - Opened for Traffic

Base paving, line marking and temporary stop signs have been completed.  Bridge is open for traffic and Hopkins Road reverted back to a two-way.  Final surface coat of pavement, sidewalks and landscaping will be done in the April/May 2024 time period.  Anticipate bridge to be closed for a one-month period with Hopkins Road remaining open as a two-way road.  Please take caution of the new bridge alignment and the temporary stop signs.

The DPW Department would like to thank the residents for their support through a very challenging construction season due to the amount and intensity of rain events received during the Summer of 2023.   Further updates will be provided as available.

DPW would also like to thank - Dayton Construction, SLR the designer, Department of Transportation (DOT), Town Engineering and Highway Departments for getting us to this point of opening the bridge for traffic.
