Pistol Permit Information

Fingerprinting will be offered:
On the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month from 3pm – 6pm in the lobby of the Watertown Police Department on a first-come basis (no appointment is required). Please note: If Watertown government offices and/or schools are closed due to inclement weather on the above mentioned dates, these fingerprint services will not be available.  In the event of questionable inclement weather on these dates, please call the Watertown Police Department in advance to confirm if these services will be available.

The cost is $ 25.00 Cash, Money Order or Bank Check. No Debit/Credit cards or personal checks will be accepted. You must have your Photo Identification, ex: Driver’s License/Passport/State ID.

If you do not reside in Watertown or Oakville, we cannot accept your Pistol Permit Application. You must submit your Permit paperwork in the town that you reside.

***No Hazmat or TSA fingerprints will be done at this location***

Background Checks

Local background inquiries can be obtained through the records division.

Fee for each Local Record Check: $15.00 CASH ONLY (Residents & Non-Residents).
